Trail Description Beautiful trails designated for Equine use only, but do intersect with hiking and biking trails. The Lake Trail and Wildlife Center Trail are easily accessed from the Equestrian Campground; additional trails are connected for longer rides. There are several other Equestrian parking areas available for day use.
Best Time to Visit All year round, no hunting in fall and lots of shade in summer.

Campground Full 30/50 amp hookups. Electric/Water/Sewer. Campsites are very convenient to the stalls. Call 205.620.2527 to reserve Equestrian Camp Site. Stalls are available next to campsites. Call 205.620.4246 to reserve stalls. Nice grassy area to graze, wash or lunge your horses. New bathroom/shower facilities. Oak Mountain Riding Stables (guided trail rides) and Petting zoo nearby. Oak Mountain State Park is 9000+ acres with lots of other activities.

 More Difficult (Moderate hills over consistent surface; possibly some narrow trails and short steeper slopes) 
 Rigorous (Easy to More Difficult for rider but physically challenging for horse such as on a level surface through deep sand) 
 Challenging (Possible rocky, uneven surface, steep slopes, uncleared trails, faster flowing streams and other obstacles that lead to more difficult riding for rider and horse)
